I've so enjoyed following the Sublime Substack and it's fun to receive an invite to Sublime for Batheads. Thanks, man!
My beloved is SUPER sensitive about noises. It's a special hell for him when he hears electronic notifications or tapping sounds, so this makes me skeptical that a website with original calculator sounds would be joyful. However, I adore how this story was told and it looks like you and Sublime are a great match. Bravo for giving us an imprint of what it looks like to have a job that you "actually sort of like," lol. It's inspiring.
BTW, "...one that honors the tiny beautiful things (new phrase I just made up, if anyone writes or has written a book with this title I will do a Huge Lawsuit)." 🤣🤣🤣
1) what’s your fav sound? At my parents' house, we pray before eating. When my grephew (great nephew) is eating with us, instead of saying "Amen" he sings "Jeeeesuuuuus." He's 2 1/2 and I laugh every time he says it.
2) what are some websites / places on the internet you love that make you feel good instead of awful? I like being here on Substack and reading the newsletters from the people I subscribe to. Like you.
4) don’t forget to eat lunch today - I didn't forget. I don't think my body would let me.
Alex tysm for this opportunity, this morning I became a paying subscriber to BAT and I signed up for Sublime so a productive day so far (9:14a EST). As a thank you I will not be contacting your fellow Substacker Cheryl Strayed about, you know, what you said ⬆️ :-)
One: Little kid laughs … especially when it’s from one of my own, even if now two of the three are taller than me. Also, the crack of baseball from a wooden bat well struck.
Two: baseball-reference.com. I should spend far more time there than scrolling social media. Every page is filled with glorious baseball rabbit holes.
Four: As it happened, due to a poorly scheduled procedure lunch and I didn’t cross paths yesterday. It’s early in the morning and I don’t know what my day will bring … but I can say great assurity … lunch will happen.
Congrats on the gig. Sounds exciting.

1. Fat raindrops on cement or the tapping of nails on... no joke... keys.
2. Pinterest, cults3d, thingiverse, kickstarter (love seeing what creatives are making at the moment), and here on substack
3. I'm apply for access now. So we'll see what's what.
4. Thank you. I should do that now. <3
I think my favorite sound may be my dog Minnie eating her dog food.
Already loving Sublime. It's like a creative zettelkasten. Thanks for the invite!
