Oh god I’ve so been there! Parking apps were designed to cause pain!!
I must say though in every therapy session I try so hard to be in the moment connecting with the person that they would know that they are special and interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever said it!
I found you from Substack Grow, so first of all a big Hi!
I noticed you're from LA from Alex, so here's my response to your post:
City of stars
Just one thing everybody wants
There in the bars
And through the smokescreen of the crowded restaurants
It's love
Yes, all we're looking for is love from someone else
.....
What I learnt from my 'Apps', Gigs and life events is this:
Love you're looking for from someone else = Esteem
Love you're giving to someone else = Self-actualization
(We need both almost all the time, unless you're lucky to Nirvana and just transcend this shit)
And how does one know if we've reached our potential('self actualized')?
Now that can be a whole separate zoom call. But how about this for now: goodtherapy.org on Google says ' A few examples of behavior of a self-actualized person might exhibit include: Getting enjoyment and satisfaction out of the present moment. Finding humor in a given situation.
By that definition, your writings here, Alex sound quite self-actualized!
i love it! i shared your r.l. stine tweet journey with some friends and one said "his response to r l stine’s response is even funnier than his original funny!"
