I'm asking you to dig deep, so deep in fact that you make it to China - wouldn't that be amazing? If we finally got to China? Jill is so mad at me for staying up late playing PS5 I need a win!!
Even your bad writing isn't all that bad. I know you could do better, or worse, as the case may be. 😂 And oh, wow, I was so surprised to see my article mentioned in your post. Thank you! And alongside such great recommendations. Super excited to start reading "Nicci's Notes."
Also - can you write all of my titles from now on? "Harry Houdini First Trick: Being Born In Wisconsin"! Brilliant!
Don't want to forfeit my place in line, so here's a rather serious comment to your super cute and all over the place and generous to others post. I'm seriously worried about "both are true" and the need (I have!) to give money to save our Democracy. I rarely, if ever, write about politics, but I did after the first (anyway I think it was the 1st) January 6th hearing: https://marytabor.substack.com/p/time-for-the-united-states-to-do I hope you'll read it and comment. Don't lose you place in line, love. xo Mary
I think Derek Sivers is fantastic and smart. But this statement in the post you linked gave me pause in today’s political/media environment: “Don’t care whether something is true — only whether it works for you.” I think I understand what he was saying, in fact, he was trying to point out that our beliefs are not the same as truths. But taken out of context, the statement seems dangerously focused on the self, without acknowledging that one’s actions (motivated by one’s beliefs) affect other people. Admittedly, I’m not in the clearest state of mind today, so I may be seeing ghosts in the closet where there are none. But I thought it was worth mentioning.
