And just like that, summer is over. Did it ever begin? I don’t know. Los Angeles has one season and it is melancholy.
If you google image melancholy, this painting comes up.
No idea why that guy is sad I mean look at his sweet pants and gigantic book and also a nice cool guy hat.
There’s also this from Edward Munch.
Munch is the guy who also did this painting which he based on the SCREAM movie franchise.
Munch also did this one, called Melancholy.
In 1929, Munch said he wanted to capture the woman’s “dark, mute unrelenting sorrow”. Go off, sad king.
Munch did so much melancholy stuff that there’s a whole article devoted to it called “Munch and Melancholy” which also describes my daily ritual of walking to the kitchen, throwing back a handful of granola straight to the dome, and walking back to my computer in a sad haze.
